The 2020 China Nondestructive Testing Annual Report, which gathers elite perspectives, comments on annual hot topics, showcases development progress, and guides industry direction, was first released online on June 2, 2021. The report was academically guided by the China Society for Nondestructive Testing and the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nondestructive Testing, and provides real-time updates on the development of nondestructive testing technology and the industry in China. Our company's project, "X-ray Inspection of Small-Diameter Conduit Welds in Liquid Rocket Engines," was selected for the applied research section.

"X-ray Inspection of Small-Diameter Conduit Welds in Liquid Rocket Engines" established a fully digital X-ray imaging system to identify defects on digital conduit images. To identify defects of different sizes and shapes, multi-scale image analysis technology was used, and the algorithm was optimized on a GPU (graphics processing unit) platform, ultimately achieving automatic and quantitative defect detection.
The inspection of weld seams in liquid rocket engine ducts has always played a crucial role in rocket engine development. The introduction of multi-scale X-ray imaging defect detection methods will gradually change the traditional manual judgment method, improve the efficiency and accuracy of image evaluation, and enhance the reliability of weld quality. Based on initial explorations, researchers will continue to explore the technology, accumulate data, and summarize the experience gained during the experiments in a timely manner to provide a reference for subsequent research.
